Are you a dedicated Workplace Safety and Health Officer looking for a new challenge in the West region? The GMP Group is currently seeking a highly motivated WSHO for an impactful 6-month contract assignment within a specialized research facility. This role is pivotal in maintaining the highest standards of safety compliance, risk mitigation, and operational excellence.

As the WSHO, you will act as the primary liaison between site management, contractors, and regulatory bodies. Your expertise will be crucial in fostering a proactive safety culture, conducting thorough site audits, and ensuring that all research activities adhere to strict WSH regulations and internal safety protocols. Responsibility

  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive WSH management systems and procedures for research site operations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate closely with contractors to ensure full compliance with safety requirements and site-specific protocols.
  • Lead safety committee meetings and promote safety awareness among all on-site personnel and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for safety audits, accident reporting, and regulatory submissions.
  • Investigate any workplace incidents or near-misses, providing detailed root-cause analysis and preventive recommendations.
  • Ensure all equipment and work processes meet the legal requirements set by MOM and other relevant authorities.

Qualifications

  • Possess a valid MOM-registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) certification.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in a WSHO capacity, preferably within a research, engineering, or construction environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of current Singapore WSH Acts and Regulations.
  • Proficiency in performing HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to commit to the full 6-month contract duration.
  • Prior experience in a facility or laboratory setting will be considered a distinct advantage.
