Responsibility
- Prepare and cook a variety of authentic wok dishes, including stir-fries, noodles, rice dishes, and sauces, adhering to traditional and modern recipes.
- Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and taste of all wok-based menu items in alignment with FooDee Global Conceptsā standards.
- Manage ingredient preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning, to maintain efficiency during service.
- Monitor food inventory and coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure fresh, high-quality ingredients are always available.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Collaborate with the head chef and kitchen staff to develop new wok dishes and seasonal specials.
- Operate and maintain wok stations, grills, and other kitchen equipment properly to ensure longevity and safety.
- Assist in training junior kitchen staff on wok cooking techniques and best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Wok Chef or in a similar role in a restaurant or hotel kitchen.
- Proven expertise in Asian cuisine, particularly Chinese, Thai, or other wok-based cooking styles.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills to handle multiple orders efficiently.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy kitchen equipment (up to 20 kg).
- Creative mindset with a passion for experimenting with flavors and presentation.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal) to communicate effectively with the team and management.
