Responsibility
- Lead and conduct cutting-edge research on immigrant transnationalism, including fieldwork, data analysis, and theoretical development.
- Collaborate with NTU faculty and international partners on interdisciplinary research projects and grant proposals.
- Publish high-impact peer-reviewed articles and present findings at global conferences.
- Mentor and supervise PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in related fields.
- Develop and teach graduate-level courses or workshops on migration studies, transnationalism, or related topics.
- Contribute to policy discussions and public engagement initiatives on migration and diaspora communities.
- Participate in academic committees and departmental activities to enhance NTU’s research and teaching missions.
- Foster international collaborations with universities, NGOs, and governmental organizations.
Qualifications
- A PhD in Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, or a related field with a focus on migration, transnationalism, or diaspora studies.
- Proven track record of high-quality publications in top-tier journals and conferences.
- Extensive experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods related to migration studies.
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding and manage collaborative projects.
- Strong teaching and mentoring skills at the graduate level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Asian migration patterns and transnational communities is a plus.
- Willingness to relocate to Singapore for the duration of the appointment.
