Responsibility
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the long-term vision for applications engineering, ensuring alignment with company goals and market demands.
- ML & AI Integration: Spearhead the integration of machine learning models into production-grade applications, optimizing performance and reliability.
- Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Technical Architecture: Design and oversee scalable, secure, and maintainable application architectures that support business growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, design, and data science teams to deliver user-centric solutions that leverage cutting-edge technologies.
- Performance Optimization: Ensure applications meet high standards for speed, responsiveness, and scalability across diverse user environments.
- Risk & Compliance: Implement best practices for data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance in all engineering processes.
- Innovation & R&D: Stay ahead of industry trends, evaluating and adopting emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications
- Proven Experience: 10+ years in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (VP, Director, or equivalent) in applications engineering or a related field.
- ML/AI Expertise: Deep understanding of machine learning, data pipelines, and model deployment in production environments.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), microservices, APIs, and modern software development practices (CI/CD, DevOps).
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional ability to mentor teams, drive technical roadmaps, and align engineering efforts with business objectives.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a track record of solving complex technical challenges in high-scale applications.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Remote Readiness: Ability to thrive in a fully remote work environment with a self-driven, results-oriented approach.
