Responsibility
- Perform high-quality ultrasound scans (abdominal, thyroid, breast, KUB, HBT, and other specialized procedures) with precision and adherence to protocols.
- Ensure accurate patient positioning, image acquisition, and documentation to meet diagnostic standards and turnaround time targets.
- Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to interpret findings and provide preliminary observations when required.
- Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
- Educate patients on procedures, address concerns, and ensure a comfortable and professional experience throughout the examination.
- Adhere to strict infection control and radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Manage patient records, scan reports, and imaging data in compliance with HIPAA and local healthcare regulations.
- Stay updated with advancements in ultrasound technology and participate in continuous professional development.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology, Sonography, or a related medical field from an accredited institution.
- Valid license or certification as an Ultrasound Technologist (e.g., ARDMS, ARRT, or local equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in diagnostic ultrasound imaging, preferably in a hospital or diagnostic center.
- Proficient in operating ultrasound machines and interpreting basic anatomical structures.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, particularly in abdominal and small parts imaging.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, doctors, and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
