The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) is seeking a dedicated and organized Tribal Affairs Assistant I to join our team in the Ilocos Region. In this vital role, you will act as a bridge between the commission and the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs), ensuring that their rights are protected and their voices are heard within the government framework.
The successful candidate will provide essential administrative and field support, assisting in the implementation of projects that promote the welfare, socio-economic development, and cultural integrity of indigenous tribes in the region. You will work closely with community leaders and commission staff to facilitate meaningful dialogues and ensure the efficient delivery of government services to underserved areas.

Responsibility
- Assist in the preparation and processing of documents related to tribal community programs and projects.
- Coordinate with local tribal leaders and community members to facilitate regular consultations and meetings.
- Provide administrative support to the regional office, including records management, filing, and preparation of reports.
- Assist in the conduct of field surveys and data gathering regarding the status and needs of indigenous communities.
- Monitor the implementation of various government-funded initiatives and development projects at the grassroots level.
- Maintain an organized database of community profiles, cultural events, and tribal activities within the Ilocos Region.
- Facilitate the effective communication between the NCIP regional office and local indigenous groups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Public Administration, Anthropology, or any related field.
- Relevant experience in community development, public service, or administrative support is a significant advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with diverse cultural groups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic office equipment operation.
- High level of integrity, patience, and a genuine commitment to public service.
- Ability to perform fieldwork and travel to remote indigenous communities when required.
- Working knowledge of local dialects in the Ilocos Region is highly preferred.
