As a Crewing Assistant, you will support the coordination of seafarer placements, verify qualifications, and maintain compliance with international maritime standards. Responsibility
- Assist in the verification of seafarersâ certifications, licenses, and documentation to ensure compliance with STCW and company standards.
- Coordinate with shipping agencies, vessel operators, and internal teams to facilitate crew changes and deployments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of seafarer qualifications, medical certificates, and employment history.
- Liaise with training institutions to confirm the validity of seafarersâ competencies and endorsements.
- Support the preparation of crew lists, contracts, and other administrative documents for vessel assignments.
- Monitor expiration dates of critical documents (e.g., passports, visas, COCs) and proactively notify relevant parties for renewals.
- Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and distribution of company policies.
- Provide general administrative support to the crewing department, including filing, data entry, and report generation.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelorâs degree in Maritime Studies, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in crewing, HR, or administrative roles within the maritime industry (fresh graduates with relevant internships are encouraged to apply).
- Familiarity with STCW, MLC, and other international maritime regulations is a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and experience with crewing management software is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural team environment.
- Willingness to adapt to flexible working hours to accommodate global time zones.
