Responsibility
- Review and edit structural steel drawings to ensure compliance with client-specific requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and fabrication teams to resolve discrepancies and optimize designs.
- Verify dimensions, materials, and connections in steel detailing drawings for accuracy and constructability.
- Prepare and revise shop drawings, assembly drawings, and erection plans using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla).
- Ensure all edited drawings adhere to project timelines and quality control protocols.
- Maintain organized documentation of revisions, approvals, and version control for all project deliverables.
- Provide technical support to junior detailers and assist in training on best practices in steel detailing.
- Stay updated with advancements in steel detailing software, codes (e.g., AISC, Eurocode), and fabrication techniques.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural steel detailing and editing, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or Revit.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication processes, welding symbols, and connection design.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with international standards (AISC, BS, Eurocode) and local building codes.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, engineers, and fabrication teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
