Responsibility
- Develop detailed structural steel drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and connection details, using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or Tekla).
- Collaborate with structural engineers and project teams to interpret design specifications and ensure accuracy in technical documentation.
- Create and maintain 3D models and BIM (Building Information Modeling) files for structural steel components and assemblies.
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers, architects, and clients to meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Prepare fabrication and construction drawings, including shop drawings, erection plans, and material takeoffs.
- Ensure compliance with local and international building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as fabricators and contractors, to resolve technical issues and clarify design intent.
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on design feasibility, constructability, and cost-efficiency.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Structural Drafter, with a focus on structural steel projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or Tekla) and BIM tools.
- Strong understanding of structural steel design principles, fabrication processes, and construction methods.
- Familiarity with international building codes and standards (e.g., AISC, Eurocodes, or Australian Standards).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality technical drawings.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote, global team environment.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
