As a Stock & Ledger Clerk, you will ensure seamless operations by managing stock levels, reconciling ledger entries, and supporting the finance and logistics teams. Responsibility
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory levels, ensuring discrepancies are promptly identified and resolved.
- Reconcile stock counts with ledger entries to ensure alignment between physical inventory and financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual stock reports for management review.
- Coordinate with the procurement and logistics teams to monitor stock movements, including receipts, issuances, and transfers.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory to minimize losses, prevent stockouts, and optimize storage space.
- Process and verify invoices, purchase orders, and delivery notes to ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
- Support the finance team in month-end closing activities, including ledger reconciliations and journal entries.
- Utilize inventory management software to track stock levels, generate reports, and forecast demand.
Qualifications
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in stock control, inventory management, or a similar role, preferably in a trading or retail environment.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and auditors.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial record-keeping practices.
