Responsibility
- Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation within the kitchen, dishwashing area, and food storage facilities.
- Operate industrial dishwashing equipment efficiently while maintaining proper water temperatures and chemical levels.
- Clean and sanitize food preparation surfaces, floors, walls, and walk-in refrigerators according to health and safety regulations.
- Properly handle and store kitchen equipment, utensils, and dinnerware to prevent damage or breakage.
- Assist the culinary team with basic food preparation tasks when necessary.
- Manage waste disposal, recycling, and composting procedures in accordance with hotel policy.
- Report any maintenance issues or faulty equipment to the Engineering department immediately.
- Maintain an organized inventory of cleaning supplies and chemical stock.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent certification.
- Previous experience as a Steward, Dishwasher, or Kitchen Porter in a hotel or restaurant setting is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards (HACCP).
- Physical stamina to handle long hours of standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict operational procedures.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe application.
