Responsibility
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners.
- Ensure all medical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored.
- Monitor and document sterilization processes to comply with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Inspect and test sterilized items to ensure they meet quality and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure the timely availability of sterilized instruments.
- Follow infection control protocols and safety guidelines to prevent contamination.
- Assist in training new staff on sterilization procedures and best practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in sterilization techniques is a plus.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in sterilization or central services.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and sterilization standards.
- Ability to operate and maintain sterilization equipment.
