As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic tests, assisting with patient examinations, and ensuring the smooth operation of clinical procedures. Responsibility
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity tests, tonometry, and refractometry.
- Operate and maintain ophthalmic equipment such as OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) and IOP (Intraocular Pressure) measurement devices.
- Assist ophthalmologists during surgical procedures and minor office surgeries.
- Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, and post-operative care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Prepare and administer eye medications as directed by the ophthalmologist.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of ophthalmic instruments and examination rooms.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Ophthalmic Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in operating ophthalmic diagnostic equipment, including OCT and IOP devices.
- Strong knowledge of eye anatomy, physiology, and common eye conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is a plus.
