Responsibility
- Oversee steel fabrication, welding, and structural assembly processes in the shipyard.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control measures.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to review structural designs and blueprints.
- Manage material procurement, inventory, and logistics for steel-related projects.
- Supervise and train junior staff, ensuring adherence to best practices in steelwork.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for efficient execution.
- Conduct inspections and tests to verify structural integrity and weld quality.
- Collaborate with project managers to resolve technical challenges and optimize workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in steel fabrication, shipbuilding, or structural supervision.
- Strong knowledge of steel construction techniques, welding standards, and maritime regulations.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams in a shipyard or industrial setting.
- Familiarity with CAD software, structural analysis tools, and project management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a 5.5-day alternate schedule and adapt to shipyard conditions.
- Certification in welding inspection or structural engineering is a plus.
