Responsibility
- Develop and refine 3D CAD models (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Fusion 360) for mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring design for manufacturability (DFM) and cost efficiency.
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and stress simulations to validate design integrity and performance under real-world conditions.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to iterate on prototypes, incorporating feedback and testing results.
- Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical documentation in compliance with industry standards (ISO, ASME).
- Optimize designs for material selection, weight reduction, and sustainability while meeting functional and aesthetic requirements.
- Support manufacturing implementation, including vendor coordination, tooling design, and process improvement for CNC machining, injection molding, or additive manufacturing.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in mechanical engineering, CAD software, and advanced materials.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CSWP, CSWE) is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development, with a strong portfolio showcasing CAD models and completed projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or CATIA) and simulation tools (ANSYS, SOLIDWORKS Simulation).
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, sheet metal, 3D printing) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Experience with DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) principles and cost optimization strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical challenges with data-driven solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with global teams and stakeholders.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Indonesian (Bahasa) is beneficial but not required.
