Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive prenatal, labor, delivery, and postnatal care to expectant mothers and newborns.
- Monitor and assess the health of mothers and babies, identifying and addressing any complications promptly.
- Assist in emergency obstetric procedures and collaborate with doctors to ensure safe deliveries.
- Educate patients and families on maternal health, breastfeeding, and newborn care best practices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation for all patients.
- Ensure a clean, sterile, and safe environment in the delivery and recovery rooms.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to mothers and families during the birthing process.
- Stay updated with the latest midwifery guidelines and protocols to deliver high-quality care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
- Valid midwifery license and registration with the relevant health authority.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in maternal and newborn care.
- Strong knowledge of obstetric emergencies, neonatal resuscitation, and infection control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with patients and families.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced and high-stakes environments.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality, ethics, and professionalism.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
