Responsibility
- Prepare and bake a variety of sourdough bread, pastries, and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Monitor and maintain proper fermentation processes for sourdough starters to ensure consistency and flavor.
- Operate and maintain baking equipment, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new recipes and seasonal offerings.
- Manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed.
- Ensure all products meet presentation and quality standards before being displayed for sale.
- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior bakers or new team members.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a baker, preferably with expertise in sourdough and pastry making.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient properties, and fermentation processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet production deadlines.
- Creative mindset with a passion for experimenting with new flavors and textures.
- Certification in food safety or hygiene is a plus.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy ingredients.
- Team player with strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
