job description
Celestica is seeking a highly skilled Software SDK/SONiC Engineer to join our dynamic networking team in Penang. In this role, you will be at the forefront of network innovation, focusing on porting, developing, and optimizing Software Development Kits (SDKs) and the SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) operating system across various hardware platforms.
As a key technical contributor, you will bridge the gap between low-level hardware abstraction layers and high-level network OS functionality. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver carrier-grade networking solutions, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability for our global client base.
If you are passionate about open-source networking, Linux kernel internals, and building robust, high-performance software, we invite you to advance your career at Celestica.

- Develop and maintain drivers and user-space libraries to facilitate seamless hardware-software interaction.
- Debug and resolve complex issues related to network stack, kernel, and hardware communication.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure BSP/SDK alignment with new product design requirements.
- Optimize software performance to meet high-bandwidth and low-latency requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and code audits to maintain the highest standards of software quality.
- Contribute to upstream SONiC open-source community initiatives and internal roadmap planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in embedded software development or network operating system development.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming and Linux kernel architecture.
- Deep understanding of SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) and SAI (Switch Abstraction Interface).
- Experience with switching silicon SDKs (Broadcom SDK, Mellanox, Marvell, etc.) is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, VLAN, STP).
- Experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines in a professional environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, global team setting.
