Responsibility
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and other security tools to identify potential threats.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware infections, phishing attacks, and unauthorized access attempts.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for security incidents and document findings for future reference.
- Collaborate with L1 and L3 SOC teams to escalate and resolve complex security issues.
- Develop and maintain incident response playbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend remediation strategies to mitigate risks.
- Provide guidance and support to junior SOC analysts and other stakeholders.
- Participate in security awareness training and drills to improve team readiness.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in SOC operations, incident response, or cybersecurity roles.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, IBM QRadar, Elastic SIEM).
- Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms, EDR/XDR solutions, and network security tools.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27001).
- Certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, remote environment with minimal supervision.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal).
