Responsibility

  • Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and other security tools to identify potential threats.
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware infections, phishing attacks, and unauthorized access attempts.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for security incidents and document findings for future reference.
  • Collaborate with L1 and L3 SOC teams to escalate and resolve complex security issues.
  • Develop and maintain incident response playbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend remediation strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior SOC analysts and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in security awareness training and drills to improve team readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in SOC operations, incident response, or cybersecurity roles.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, IBM QRadar, Elastic SIEM).
  • Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms, EDR/XDR solutions, and network security tools.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27001).
  • Certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, remote environment with minimal supervision.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal).
