Responsibility
- Architect and develop high-performance payment systems and APIs for Google Pay, ensuring scalability, security, and low latency.
- Lead end-to-end feature development, from ideation to deployment, using Java, Go, or Kotlin in a microservices environment.
- Optimize transaction processing pipelines to handle millions of requests per second with 99.99% uptime.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and data scientists to build intuitive, user-friendly payment experiences.
- Implement fraud detection and risk mitigation strategies using machine learning and real-time analytics.
- Mentor junior engineers and drive technical best practices in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Stay ahead of fintech trends (e.g., open banking, CBDCs, or tokenization) and propose innovative solutions.
- Work closely with global teams to ensure seamless integration across Googleâs products (e.g., Android, Chrome, or Cloud).
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in fintech, payments, or e-commerce.
- Proficiency in Java, Go, Kotlin, or Python and experience with distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, or Kubernetes) and database design (SQL/NoSQL).
- Experience with payment protocols (e.g., PCI-DSS, ISO 20022, or tokenization) and security standards.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and optimize for performance at scale.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with mobile development (Android/iOS) or frontend frameworks is a plus.
