Based in the vibrant tech hub of Canggu, Bali, you will lead the development, optimization, and maintenance of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) processes to ensure high-quality, efficient production. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where innovation meets tropical inspiration.

As an SMT Process Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, troubleshoot complex manufacturing challenges, and implement best practices in electronics assembly. Your expertise will directly impact product reliability, cost efficiency, and scalability in a global market.

If you are passionate about electronics manufacturing, thrive in a hands-on technical role, and want to be part of a forward-thinking company in one of the world’s most sought-after locations, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibility

  • Develop, optimize, and sustain SMT processes for high-volume PCBA assembly, ensuring adherence to quality and efficiency standards.
  • Conduct process characterization, DOE (Design of Experiments), and statistical analysis to improve yield and reduce defects.
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve SMT-related issues, including soldering defects, component placement accuracy, and reflow profiling.
  • Implement and maintain process control plans, work instructions, and documentation in compliance with ISO and IPC standards.
  • Evaluate and recommend new SMT equipment, materials, and technologies to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Train and mentor production technicians and engineers on SMT best practices, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to streamline workflows and reduce cycle time.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure Accton Technology remains at the forefront of SMT innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in SMT process engineering, preferably in high-mix or high-volume electronics manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in SMT equipment (e.g., pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, AOI systems) and process optimization tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
  • Strong knowledge of IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001) and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles.
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis (RCA), and failure mode analysis (FMEA).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data to drive process improvements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with global teams and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to relocate to Bali, Indonesia (relocation assistance provided for qualified candidates).
