Responsibility
- Operate and maintain conventional or CNC lathe machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine machining parameters, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure components meet strict standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on lathe machines to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Adhere to safety protocols (K3) and wear appropriate PPE to prevent workplace injuries and hazards.
- Optimize machining processes for efficiency and material waste reduction while maintaining high output quality.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve workflows.
- Document production data, including measurements, adjustments, and maintenance logs, for traceability and compliance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a Lathe Machine Operator or Machinist in manufacturing, automotive, or aerospace industries.
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAD/CAM files.
- Hands-on experience with manual lathes, CNC lathes, or multi-axis machining centers.
- Strong understanding of metal properties, cutting tools, and machining techniques (e.g., turning, facing, threading).
- Ability to use precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM) with high accuracy.
- Knowledge of workplace safety (K3) and ISO/AS9100 quality standards.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy materials (up to 20 kg).
- Basic English proficiency for communication in a multicultural team (preferred).
