Responsibility
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts according to standardized recipes and special orders.
- Measure, mix, and shape dough, batters, and fillings using manual and automated equipment.
- Monitor baking processes to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to food safety standards.
- Decorate and present finished products with artistic precision for display and service.
- Manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed to avoid shortages.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen workspace in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new recipes and seasonal menu items.
- Train and supervise junior bakers or kitchen assistants when required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a Baker, Pastry Chef, or in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume kitchen or bakery.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient properties, and food safety protocols (HACCP preferred).
- Ability to read and follow complex recipes with precision and attention to detail.
- Creative mindset with a passion for developing unique and visually appealing baked goods.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy ingredients (up to 25 kg), and work in a warm environment.
- Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure during peak hours.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment (ovens, mixers, proofers) and basic maintenance.
- Fluent in English; additional language skills (e.g., Indonesian) are a plus.
