Responsibility
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods following standardized recipes.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes, ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
- Operate and maintain baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, and proofing cabinets, in compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients, and communicate restocking needs to management.
- Decorate and finish baked products with icing, glazes, or other toppings to enhance visual appeal.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure timely production and delivery of baked goods.
- Assist in developing new recipes and seasonal specials to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a baker or in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume bakery or restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient properties, and recipe scaling.
- Ability to read and follow recipes with precision and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy ingredients (up to 25 kg), and work in a warm kitchen environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation principles (HACCP or similar certification is a plus).
- Creative mindset with a passion for experimenting with flavors, textures, and presentations.
- Team player with strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
