Responsibility
- Oversee and enforce safety policies and procedures on construction sites to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and contractors to promote a culture of safety awareness.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Ensure the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment on site.
- Stay updated with the latest safety regulations, industry best practices, and technological advancements in safety management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in the construction industry.
- Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and influence staff at all levels.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify risks and implement solutions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.
