Responsibility
- Develop and optimize workforce schedules for healthcare staff, ensuring alignment with patient demand, regulatory requirements, and budget constraints.
- Monitor and analyze timekeeping systems to guarantee accuracy, compliance, and efficient payroll processing.
- Identify and resolve staffing gaps proactively, implementing contingency plans to maintain uninterrupted service.
- Collaborate with department heads to forecast staffing needs based on historical data, seasonal trends, and operational goals.
- Lead the implementation of workforce management software, training staff on best practices and troubleshooting issues.
- Generate reports and dashboards to track KPIs (e.g., overtime costs, shift coverage, employee satisfaction) and present insights to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, union agreements, and healthcare regulations in all scheduling practices.
- Mentor junior scheduling staff and foster a culture of continuous improvement in workforce planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in workforce scheduling, preferably in healthcare or medical settings.
- Proven expertise in workforce management software (e.g., Kronos, Workday, UKG) and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable scheduling strategies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to liaise with clinical and administrative teams.
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws, FLSA, and healthcare staffing regulations.
- Certification in Workforce Planning (e.g., SWP, CWPP) is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
