Responsibility
- Conduct thorough reviews of medical records to identify gaps in clinical documentation and ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses, procedures, and treatment plans for precise documentation.
- Educate and train clinical staff on best practices for documentation to improve compliance and coding accuracy.
- Utilize CDI software and tools to track, analyze, and report on documentation deficiencies and improvements.
- Ensure documentation supports appropriate DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) assignment and reflects the patientâs true clinical picture.
- Stay updated on healthcare regulations, coding guidelines (ICD-10, CPT), and industry standards to maintain compliance.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and recommend documentation enhancements.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to CDI, such as query response rates and documentation accuracy.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Philippines (or equivalent international certification).
- Minimum of 2+ years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an acute care or hospital setting.
- Experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), medical coding, or auditing is a strong plus.
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
- Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and DRG methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical-thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CDI software tools (e.g., Epic, 3M, Nuance).
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with strong time-management skills.
