Responsibility

  • Provide exceptional front-of-house service in a high-volume Japanese restaurant, ensuring all guests receive prompt, courteous, and professional attention.
  • Welcome and seat guests with warmth and efficiency, managing reservations and walk-ins to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction.
  • Present and explain the menu, including sushi, sashimi, and traditional Japanese dishes, with detailed knowledge of ingredients, preparation methods, and pairing suggestions.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special requests and dietary restrictions are communicated clearly to the kitchen and bar teams.
  • Serve dishes and beverages with precision, adhering to Japanese dining etiquette and presentation standards to enhance the guest experience.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience, proactively addressing any concerns or requests to ensure a seamless and enjoyable visit.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen, bar, and management teams to maintain smooth operations, especially during peak hours, and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting dining area, adhering to hygiene and safety standards at all times.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a waitress, server, or front-of-house staff in a high-end restaurant, preferably in Japanese or Asian cuisine.
  • Strong knowledge of Japanese dining culture, etiquette, and menu items, including sushi, sashimi, and traditional dishes.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Japanese or other languages (e.g., Mandarin, Korean) is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, carry trays, and move swiftly during busy service hours.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the restaurant’s operating hours.
  • Certification in food safety or hospitality training is an advantage but not mandatory.
