As a Senior Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in our daily operations, bridging the gap between high-level clinical support and exceptional client service. Responsibility
- Assist veterinarians in complex surgical procedures, routine examinations, and emergency treatments.
- Administer medications, fluids, and vaccinations as directed by the attending veterinarian.
- Supervise and mentor junior veterinary assistants to ensure clinical protocols are followed correctly.
- Perform laboratory diagnostic tests including blood collection, urinalysis, and fecal exams.
- Manage patient intake and discharge, providing clear education to clients regarding post-operative care and medication schedules.
- Ensure all surgical instruments and clinical areas are properly sterilized and maintained.
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records for all patients.
- Monitor anesthetized patients and assist in diagnostic imaging like X-rays and Ultrasounds.
Qualifications
- At least 2–3 years of proven experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting.
- A Diploma or Degree in Veterinary Nursing, Animal Science, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Strong technical skills in animal restraint, venipuncture, and catheter placement.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia to interact effectively with diverse clients.
- Proven ability to remain calm and efficient in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and a collaborative team-player mindset.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, to support clinic operations.
