This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge telecom infrastructure while contributing to fault management, preventive maintenance, and SLA compliance for mission-critical systems.
As part of our global team, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to diagnose, resolve, and prevent network disruptions, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Based in Badung (covering areas like Canggu, Ubud, Denpasar, or Jimbaran), youâll leverage your expertise in transmission technologies to support Huaweiâs commitment to innovation and operational excellence in the ASEAN region.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented engineer with a passion for telecom infrastructure and a track record of delivering high-availability solutions in dynamic environments.
Responsibility
- Perform fault management and root-cause analysis for DWDM and transmission network elements, ensuring rapid resolution within defined SLAs.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on optical transmission equipment, including hardware upgrades and firmware updates.
- Monitor network performance metrics (e.g., latency, packet loss, signal strength) and proactively address anomalies.
- Collaborate with vendors, field technicians, and internal teams to coordinate repairs, replacements, or escalations.
- Document all maintenance activities, incidents, and resolutions in compliance with Huaweiâs global standards.
- Optimize transmission network configurations to improve efficiency, scalability, and redundancy.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support teams during network outages or deployments.
- Stay updated on emerging transmission technologies (e.g., coherent optics, SDN) and recommend improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Masterâs degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in transmission network engineering, with expertise in DWDM, OTN, or SDH systems.
- Proven experience with Huawei, Cisco, or Nokia transmission equipment (e.g., OSN series, 1830 PSS).
- Strong knowledge of optical fiber testing (OTDR, power meters) and network protocols (e.g., Ethernet, MPLS).
- Certifications such as HCIP-Transmission, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal); proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally within Bali or to other regional sites as needed.
