job description

Join Right Recruit as a Senior Tooling Engineer specializing in Injection Molding, Tooling Validation, and New Product Introduction (NPI) in the vibrant Badung, Bali region. This is a unique opportunity to work in high-precision manufacturing for medical devices, automotive components, and cleanroom environments, where your expertise will drive innovation and operational excellence.

In this role, you will lead the development, optimization, and validation of molding tools and processes, ensuring seamless transitions from prototyping to full-scale production. Your work will directly impact product quality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards (ISO 13485, IATF 16949). Ideal for engineers passionate about precision engineering, problem-solving, and continuous improvement in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Why apply? Bali’s thriving industrial hub offers a perfect blend of professional growth and work-life balance, with access to cutting-edge facilities and a collaborative, multicultural team.

Responsibility

  • Design, develop, and optimize injection molding tools and dies for high-precision components in medical/automotive sectors.
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, from tooling concept to mass production, ensuring DFM (Design for Manufacturability) compliance.
  • Conduct tooling validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and process optimization to meet tight tolerances and cleanroom standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, QA, Production) to resolve molding defects, cycle-time inefficiencies, and material issues.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce scrap, downtime, and costs.
  • Oversee tool maintenance, repairs, and lifecycle management to ensure operational reliability.
  • Stay updated on industry trends in molding technologies, materials (e.g., PEEK, LCP), and automation (e.g., robotics, Industry 4.0).
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (FDA, ISO 13485, IATF 16949) and internal quality systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in injection molding tooling, NPI, or precision engineering, preferably in medical devices or automotive.
  • Hands-on expertise with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Moldflow) and tooling design principles.
  • Proven track record in process validation (DOE, SPC, FMEA) and troubleshooting molding defects (e.g., warpage, sink marks).
  • Strong knowledge of material science (thermoplastics, elastomers) and cleanroom manufacturing protocols.
  • Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Project Management (PMP) are a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills to mentor junior engineers.
  • Willingness to work in Badung, Bali with occasional travel to client sites.
