Responsibility
- Design and develop high-precision injection molding tools using SolidWorks and other CAD software, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, production, quality assurance) to optimize tool designs for manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and performance.
- Conduct feasibility studies and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) analyses to identify potential issues and propose innovative solutions.
- Create and maintain detailed technical drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and documentation for tooling projects.
- Perform simulations and stress analysis to validate tool designs and ensure durability under production conditions.
- Oversee the prototyping and testing of new tools, providing recommendations for improvements based on performance data.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in plastics injection molding and tool design, incorporating best practices into projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tool design for plastics injection molding, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (mandatory) and familiarity with other CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, NX, or CATIA).
- In-depth knowledge of injection molding processes, materials (e.g., ABS, PP, PE), and tooling standards.
- Experience with mold flow analysis software (e.g., Moldflow, Moldex3D) and finite element analysis (FEA).
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and manufacturing tolerances.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required; knowledge of Indonesian (Bahasa) is a plus.
