Responsibility
- Inspect and assess corrosion levels on industrial structures, pipelines, and equipment using specialized tools and techniques.
- Apply protective coatings, cathodic protection systems, and other anti-corrosion treatments to prevent material degradation.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing anti-corrosion systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor and test the effectiveness of corrosion prevention measures, including electrical resistance, potential surveys, and coating integrity.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop and implement corrosion control strategies for new and existing projects.
- Prepare detailed reports on corrosion inspection findings, maintenance activities, and recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of all anti-corrosion work, including materials used, procedures followed, and results achieved.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies during all field operations.
- Provide training and guidance to junior technicians or field staff on best practices for corrosion prevention.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in anti-corrosion work, coatings application, or cathodic protection systems.
- Proficiency in using corrosion monitoring tools, such as reference electrodes, holiday detectors, and coating thickness gauges.
- Familiarity with industry standards, such as NACE, ISO, or ASTM, related to corrosion prevention and control.
- Strong understanding of metallurgy, electrochemistry, and material science principles as they relate to corrosion.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and project specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Physical fitness and willingness to work in field environments, including offshore or remote locations.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites across Bali.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is a plus.
