Responsibility
- Coordinate and supervise daily research laboratory activities to ensure operational continuity and efficiency.
- Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of complex scientific and analytical laboratory equipment.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including procurement of chemical reagents, consumables, and specialized technical supplies.
- Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols to maintain a safe working environment for researchers and students.
- Provide technical training and mentorship to junior technicians and research assistants on equipment handling and experimental procedures.
- Ensure meticulous documentation of laboratory logs, maintenance records, and project data in compliance with university quality standards.
- Collaborate with faculty members and researchers to support the setup of new experiments and research projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Biotechnology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory or technical operational environment, preferably in an academic or industrial setting.
- Strong technical aptitude with hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing laboratory instruments.
- Proven ability to lead a small team and manage operational workflows effectively.
- Knowledge of ISO standards, laboratory safety regulations, and chemical handling procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with faculty and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
