Responsibility
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of laser systems and photonics components for industrial and commercial applications.
- Oversee technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex engineering challenges in manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies into existing workflows.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation to maintain compliance with industry standards (ISO, CE, etc.).
- Conduct performance testing, calibration, and validation of laser equipment to meet precision and reliability requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in laser technology, materials science, and automation to drive innovation.
- Support customer-facing technical discussions, including presentations and demonstrations of Coherent’s solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in laser systems, photonics, or semiconductor manufacturing, with a focus on R&D, process engineering, or technical support.
- Hands-on experience with laser alignment, optical testing, and system integration.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), LabVIEW, or MATLAB for design and simulation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of resolving complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for training, conferences, or customer site visits.
