Responsibility
- Lead technical engagements with customers to understand their requirements and recommend Coherent’s laser, material, or networking solutions.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions for clients and internal teams.
- Collaborate with R&D, sales, and engineering teams to customize solutions for complex applications in telecommunications, industrial, or scientific sectors.
- Provide pre- and post-sales technical support, including troubleshooting, system integration, and performance optimization.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to ensure product compatibility and customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products to enhance Coherent’s market position.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.
- Travel domestically or internationally (as needed) to support customer projects and trade shows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics, or a related field (PhD preferred for advanced roles).
- 5+ years of experience in technical applications, laser systems, photonics, or networking components, with a focus on customer-facing roles.
- Strong understanding of laser physics, optical systems, or high-speed networking technologies (e.g., DWDM, fiber optics).
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable solutions for diverse audiences.
- Experience with CAD software, simulation tools (e.g., Zemax, COMSOL), or programming languages (Python, MATLAB) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; additional languages (Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin, etc.) are advantageous.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for customer meetings, trade shows, or training sessions.
