Responsibility
- Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists in the preparation, execution, and recovery phases of operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to sterile techniques, infection control protocols, and patient safety standards.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, surgical progress, and postoperative conditions accurately.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate and respond to emergencies or complications.
- Manage and maintain operating room equipment, supplies, and inventory to ensure readiness for procedures.
- Educate patients and families on preoperative and postoperative care, ensuring clear communication and support.
- Participate in continuous professional development and stay updated on the latest surgical nursing best practices.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid Nursing License from the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Operating Theatre (OT) nursing, with senior roles preferred.
- Proven expertise in perioperative care, sterile techniques, and surgical instrumentation.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) is a plus.
- Commitment to patient advocacy, ethical practice, and continuous learning.
