Responsibility
- Design and deploy advanced data protection systems, including encryption, access controls, and threat detection mechanisms for Googleâs enterprise infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with global regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Conduct security assessments and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities in data storage, transmission, and processing systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security best practices into CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native architectures.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Evaluate emerging threats and technologies, recommending proactive measures to enhance Googleâs data protection posture.
- Automate security workflows using scripting (Python, Go) and tools like SIEM, IDS/IPS, and DLP solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and advocate for a security-first culture across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise security, with a focus on data protection, encryption, or identity management.
- Hands-on expertise with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001), cloud platforms (GCP, AWS), and tools like HashiCorp Vault, OpenSSL, or Kubernetes security.
- Proficiency in programming (Python, Go, Java) and automation for security operations.
- Deep understanding of network security, cryptography, and secure coding practices.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or OSCP are a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in global teams and adapting to fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
