Responsibility
- Lead and execute R&D projects in thermal oxidation processes for semiconductor and photonic device fabrication.
- Develop novel material deposition and surface treatment techniques to enhance device performance and reliability.
- Design and characterize advanced sensor systems for industrial, medical, or environmental applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (physicists, engineers, data scientists) to integrate research findings into scalable prototypes.
- Publish high-impact research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences.
- Mentor junior researchers and PhD students, fostering a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in nanotechnology, 2D materials, and quantum devices to drive A*STARβs research roadmap.
- Support patent filings and technology transfer initiatives to industry partners.
Qualifications
- PhD in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field with 5+ years of post-doctoral or industry experience.
- Proven expertise in thermal oxidation, CVD/ALD, or plasma etching for semiconductor applications.
- Hands-on experience with characterization tools (SEM, TEM, XPS, AFM, ellipsometry, etc.).
- Strong background in photonics, optoelectronics, or sensor development (e.g., CMOS, MEMS, or NEMS devices).
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications and/or patents in relevant domains.
- Proficiency in data analysis (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW) and simulation software (COMSOL, TCAD).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural, remote-collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and semiconductor fabrication standards is a plus.
