Responsibility
- Lead and design Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) strategies for research projects, ensuring meaningful participation from diverse communities.
- Develop and implement qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to assess the impact of PPIE on healthcare outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, policymakers, and community leaders, to integrate patient perspectives into research and practice.
- Publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at international conferences.
- Mentor junior researchers and students in PPIE best practices and ethical research conduct.
- Secure funding and grants by writing proposals aligned with NTU’s strategic goals and global health priorities.
- Organize and facilitate workshops, focus groups, and public forums to gather insights and disseminate research findings.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of PPIE initiatives, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications
- PhD in Public Health, Medical Sociology, Health Psychology, or a related field with a focus on patient engagement or community-based research.
- Minimum 5 years of postdoctoral experience in designing and leading PPIE-focused research projects.
- Proven track record of publishing in high-impact journals and securing research funding.
- Strong expertise in qualitative and mixed-methods research, including interviews, surveys, and participatory action research.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including marginalized or underserved communities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex research into accessible language.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems in Southeast Asia and global health equity frameworks.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, SPSS, R) and project management tools.
