Responsibility
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for electrical projects.
- Conduct thorough analysis of project specifications, drawings, and contracts to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment on project scope, budgets, and timelines.
- Lead tendering processes, including bid submissions, negotiations, and contract finalization.
- Monitor project costs, variations, and financial risks, providing regular reports to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client requirements.
- Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on best practices in quantity surveying and estimation.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical estimation or quantity surveying, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects.
- Proficient in estimation software (e.g., CostX, Candy, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and labor costs.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting deadlines.
- Experience with Australian construction standards is a plus.
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) is advantageous.
