Responsibility
- Prepare and submit tender documents, including bills of quantities, cost estimates, and commercial proposals to secure new projects.
- Conduct thorough cost analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive and accurate pricing for materials, labor, and subcontractor services.
- Manage and oversee contract administration, including variations, claims, and final accounts, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
- Monitor and control project budgets, providing regular financial reports and forecasts to stakeholders to ensure cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to optimize design and construction methods for cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
- Assess and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring value for money and alignment with project specifications.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize financial exposure and disputes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date commercial documentation, including contracts, change orders, and payment certifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., RICS, AIQS) is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, with at least 2 years in a senior role within the construction industry.
- Proven expertise in tender preparation, cost estimation, and contract management for large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Candy, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with local and international construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, JCT) and dispute resolution processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
