Responsibility
- Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects.
- Conduct thorough analysis of contract documents, including tender documents, bills of quantities, and specifications.
- Negotiate and administer contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure favorable terms.
- Monitor project expenditures, track variations, and provide cost control recommendations to stakeholders.
- Assess and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with project managers and engineers to resolve commercial and contractual disputes.
- Prepare and submit progress claims, final accounts, and other financial documentation.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior quantity surveyors and support staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on construction projects.
- Proven expertise in cost estimation, contract administration, and financial management.
- Strong knowledge of construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional certification (e.g., RICS, AIQS) is a plus.
