Responsibility
- Lead and mentor a team of purchasing staff to ensure smooth and efficient procurement operations.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to optimize costs and improve supplier performance.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to secure the best value for the company.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, materials, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Prepare and present regular reports on purchasing activities, budget adherence, and cost savings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., finance, logistics, production) to align procurement with business goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Proven track record in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships in the manufacturing sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry standards, compliance requirements, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
