Responsibility
- Serve as the primary manufacturing interface for new and existing Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) products, ensuring seamless transition from R&D to production
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness for precision scientific instruments
- Collaborate with R&D teams to provide manufacturability feedback during product development and design phases
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing issues, working closely with quality assurance teams
- Manage and improve production documentation including work instructions, BOMs, and process flow diagrams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Support supply chain management by working with vendors to ensure component quality and timely delivery
- Train and mentor production staff on new processes and technologies to maintain high manufacturing standards
- Ensure compliance with international quality standards and regulatory requirements for scientific instrumentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably with precision scientific instruments or high-tech products
- Proven experience with Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) or other nanotechnology instrumentation is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and PLM/PDM systems
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or other quality management systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Experience working in a multinational company or with global teams is a plus
