Responsibility
- Lead the development, optimization, and maintenance of SMT (Surface Mount Technology) processes to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
- Design and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for process deviations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to introduce new technologies and improve existing workflows.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for SMT operations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield rates, cycle times, and defect rates, and drive data-driven improvements.
- Provide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff on SMT best practices.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IPC, ISO) and internal quality management systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in SMT process engineering, preferably in electronics manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of SMT equipment (e.g., pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, AOI systems) and process parameters.
- Strong proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of reducing defects and improving process efficiency.
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to drive cross-functional collaboration.
