- Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and defects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Production) to enhance process efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness.
- Design and execute DOE (Design of Experiments) to validate process improvements and new plating technologies.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., ISO, IATF 16949, RoHS) and internal quality management systems.
- Monitor and analyze key process parameters (e.g., current density, bath chemistry, temperature) using statistical tools (SPC, Six Sigma).
- Train and mentor production staff on best practices for plating operations, safety, and troubleshooting.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) by developing and qualifying plating processes for prototype and mass production.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in electroplating, surface finishing, or wet process engineering within electronics or precision manufacturing.
- Proven expertise in plating technologies (e.g., gold, silver, nickel, tin, or copper plating) and surface treatment methods.
- Strong knowledge of process control tools (SPC, FMEA, 8D) and quality standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
- Proficiency in data analysis software (Minitab, JMP) and CAD/CAM tools for process simulation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of reducing defects and improving process stability.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (Kaizen, Six Sigma).
- Fluent English communication (written and verbal) with the ability to collaborate in a multicultural team.
