Responsibility

  • Design and develop high-precision plastic injection moulds using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or NX) to meet client specifications and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure mould designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and defect-free.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) analyses to optimize mould performance and reduce cycle times.
  • Create and review detailed technical drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and 3D models for approval by stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mould-related issues during prototyping and production, implementing design modifications as needed.
  • Stay updated on emerging materials, technologies, and industry trends in plastic moulding to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical support to toolmakers and production teams during mould fabrication and testing.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM) and client-specific requirements for quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in plastic mould design, with a proven portfolio of successful projects in injection moulding.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or Pro/ENGINEER) and mould flow analysis tools (e.g., Moldflow).
  • Deep understanding of plastic materials, moulding processes, and tooling techniques (e.g., multi-cavity, hot runner systems).
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and manufacturing constraints for plastic components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) to communicate effectively with international teams and clients.
  • Experience working in automotive, medical, or consumer electronics industries is highly advantageous.
