Responsibility
- Design, develop, and optimize plasma etch processes for dielectrics, conductors, and multi-material stacks.
- Lead R&D projects from concept to prototype, ensuring alignment with industry and academic standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to transition processes from lab-scale to small-volume manufacturing.
- Characterize materials and processes using advanced tools (e.g., SEM, AFM, XPS, ellipsometry).
- Troubleshoot and resolve process deviations, improving yield and reproducibility.
- Document and present findings in technical reports, patents, and peer-reviewed publications.
- Mentor junior scientists and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in plasma physics, semiconductor fabrication, and nanotechnology.
Qualifications
- PhD or Master’s degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or Electrical Engineering with a focus on plasma processing or microfabrication.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in dry etch process development (RIE, ICP, DRIE) for dielectrics (SiO₂, SiN) and conductors (Al, Cu, W).
- Proven track record in process optimization for semiconductor, MEMS, or advanced packaging applications.
- Proficiency with plasma etch tools (e.g., Lam, Applied Materials, TEL) and metrology equipment.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in DOE (Design of Experiments) and statistical process control (SPC).
- Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and adhere to safety protocols.
- Familiarity with CMOS, FinFET, or 3D NAND processes is a plus.
