Responsibility
- Design, analyze, and optimize piping systems for hydropower plants, industrial facilities, and large-scale construction projects using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, PDMS, or SolidWorks).
- Develop detailed piping layouts, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and isometric drawings in compliance with ASME, ASTM, and international engineering codes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (civil, mechanical, electrical) to integrate piping systems with overall project designs while ensuring cost efficiency and safety.
- Conduct stress analysis, hydraulic calculations, and material selection to ensure system reliability under operational loads and environmental conditions.
- Oversee the procurement, fabrication, and installation of piping components, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Perform site inspections and commissioning activities to validate system performance and troubleshoot technical issues during project execution.
- Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, and feasibility studies to support project proposals and client presentations.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to ensure best practices in piping design and project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; Masterâs degree or professional certifications (e.g., P.E., Chartered Engineer) is a plus.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in piping design and engineering, with a focus on hydropower, oil & gas, or heavy industrial projects.
- Proficiency in piping design software (AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS, CAESAR II, or equivalent) and strong knowledge of ASME B31.1, B31.3, and API standards.
- Proven track record in project management, including scope definition, cost estimation, and schedule adherence for large-scale engineering projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to interpret complex technical drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams in a global context.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits, client meetings, or project commissioning (international exposure is a plus).
- Familiarity with sustainable engineering practices and emerging technologies in renewable energy systems is highly desirable.
